Build Your Compelling Profile
Your profile is your storefront. A well-crafted profile attracts the right mentees and sets clear expectations.
Essential Profile Elements:
Profile Photo
Upload a professional, friendly headshot. Profiles with photos receive 5x more views.
- Clear face, well-lit, smiling
- Professional attire recommended
- Minimum 400x400px, JPEG or PNG
Profile Bio
Your bio tells your story and appears in search results. The first line is especially important as it acts like a headline.
Example First Line (acts as headline):
"Senior Product Manager | Ex-Google | Helping PMs scale from IC to Leadership"
Bio Best Practices:
- • Start with a strong first line that summarizes your expertise
- • Share your unique background and experience
- • Mention specific problems you help solve
- • Include notable achievements or companies
- • Keep it conversational and authentic (300-500 words)
Categories & Expertise
Select 3-5 categories that best represent your mentoring expertise. This helps mentees find you through search and filters.
Examples: Career Advice, Leadership, Product Management, Software Engineering, Career Change, Work-Life Balance, etc.
Languages & Location
Specify which languages you can mentor in and your location (city/country). This helps with time zone matching.
Important Note
Your profile can be edited anytime from My Account → Settings. Don't worry about making it perfect on the first try.
Configure Your Availability
Set your recurring weekly availability so mentees know when they can book sessions with you. This is flexible and can be updated anytime.
Availability Settings:
- 1 Navigate to Availability: Go to My Account → Availability
- 2 Set Your Timezone: Choose your current timezone (auto-detected). Mentees will see times in their own timezone.
- 3 Add Time Slots: Click on time blocks to mark when you're available each week. Sessions are typically 30-60 minutes.
- 4 Set Booking Window: Choose how far in advance (minimum and maximum days) mentees can book.
- 5 Block Specific Dates: Exclude holidays, vacations, or busy periods.
Availability Tips
- Start with 5-10 hours per week. You can always increase as demand grows.
- Offer availability across different days/times to accommodate global mentees.
- Leave buffer time between sessions for notes and breaks.

Create Session Types & Pricing
Session types define what mentoring you offer and at what price. You can create multiple session types for different services.
Session Type Components:
Session Name & Description
Give your session a clear, compelling name and describe what mentees will gain.
Example:
"Career Strategy Session"
"1-hour deep dive into your career goals, challenges, and actionable next steps."
Duration & Price
Set session length (30/45/60 minutes) and your rate in USD.
- • 30-min sessions: $25-75 typical
- • 60-min sessions: $50-200 typical
- • You can offer free sessions too!
Pricing Options:
Paid Sessions
Set your rate based on your experience and the value you provide. Most mentors charge $50-150/hour.
Free Sessions
Offer free sessions to gain experience, build reviews, or help specific groups. Great when starting out!
Mixed Approach
Many mentors offer both paid and free sessions—e.g., "Intro Call" (free 15 min) + "Deep Dive Session" (paid 60 min).
Pricing Strategy Tip
When starting out, consider offering 5-10 free introductory sessions to build reviews and reputation. Once you have 3-5 positive reviews, you can transition to paid pricing.
Go Live & Get Your First Booking!
Once you've completed the above steps, your profile is live and searchable! Here's how to get your first mentees:
Share Your Profile
Your unique profile URL can be shared on LinkedIn, Twitter, your email signature, and other professional networks.
