My encounter with cybersecurity began as a fiction depicted in movies as a child, but growing up I had a clear understanding that it is more than just the fast typing and the transparent monitor. Our data and privacy are prone to attack. My journey in technology began with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and in cybersecurity with CS50 Introduction to Cybersecurity by Harvard, where I learned the basics in cybersecurity, including data security and cryptography, cross-site scripting, system security, fingerprinting, and software security. I undertook a bootcamp provided by Swift Profile, where I learned about penetration testing and gained hands-on experience with tools like Insight VM, Kali Linux, Burp Suite, and Metasploitable. I completed a project on identifying vulnerabilities present in Metasploitable and a vulnerable website and recommended mitigation strategies. This immersive experience solidified my aim to pursue a career in cybersecurity and aligned with my objectives to protect data and privacy. Further pursuing my career, I completed the Google Cybersecurity Certification, where I learned about the eight CISSP domains, monitored and analyzed logs with SIEM tools (Splunk), and learned command line, SQL queries, and used Python to automate repetitive tasks in cybersecurity. I have also completed the Junior Cybersecurity Pathway on Skills for All (Cisco Academy) and some Google Cloud courses. Additionally, I am currently in the Cyblack SOC Academy program, where I gained hands-on experience with tools like MITRE for CTI, Sublist3r, Aquatone, VirusTotal, and PhishTool for threat analysis. I made a detailed presentation on SQLi and earned 20 badges on LetsDefend, one of which is "Incident Handler 2." I also earned some badges on TryHackMe, one of which is "Networking Nerd." Currently, I am dedicated to perfecting my expertise to become a proficient Cybersecurity Analyst.
