I started my career as a statistical software developer at MD Anderson cancer center in the early 90's. After a stint at Compaq I followed a manager to Microsoft where I stayed for a decade working on Windows and Microsoft Research. I left as a lead PM to return to Canada and go to grad school. I founded a couple non-profits (a Makerspace and an environmental computing organization) and after my PhD have been leading a team on a National Research Council funding geospatial analytics project. I am planning a move back to more central industry roles rather than pure research, but I have enjoyed mentoring students so thought that I would sign up here. Please feel free to get in touch!
