I worked in the IT industry for the last 20 years. I started my career at a startup funded by a venture capitalist and went on to work and study with SAP, one of the biggest IT companies in the world. From there I got into consulting, starting out as a software developer and transforming into a manager. Switching consulting companies twice I became a partner in a consulting company. On the way I did multiple international projects in the USA, Denmark, Austria and Germany in a leading position as a technical project lead, managing IT landscape, IT infrastructure, custom development, legacy integration, data migration, release management and technical cutover management. I was leading several different departments within my companies - often focussed on IT innovation. I learned a lot about the skills required and the challenges that come from the life of a consultant - both - professionaly and socially.
