Growing up in a small town in southern Italy, I always dreamed of bigger opportunities and felt restless in my comfort zone. Determined to find more, I packed up and left everything behind. I moved to the Italian part of Switzerland to study, as my English was poor, and it was the only place outside Italy where I could study in Italian. I managed to finish my bachelor's degree six months early, which gave me the time to learn English and prepare for my next chapter. I then moved to Lausanne, where I completed my master's studies. My journey continued to Berlin, where I joined a fintech startup as an intern and was employee #20. After 18 months, I was leading a team, and after 4 years, I was heading two departments. Deep in the scale-up phase, with around 200 employees, I felt restless and in need of space again. I decided I had to step out of my comfort zone once more, so I packed up and left again. Throughout my experiences—university, friends, new cities, and different jobs—I learned that no matter what happens, I can always find a way to deal with it. Starting from zero and figuring things out on my own didn't seem so scary anymore. I decided to become an entrepreneur, to find independence and give space to my creativity. What I didn’t anticipate was how much I would miss the community of people. Independence is great, but it's even better when shared with others. I felt lost and without direction until I met Lena and Ale, my co-founders. We shared our perspectives on life and found a lot of common ground. I saw in them the same craving for independence and creativity that I had. Together, we decided to start NeueHaus, a community of like-minded people who crave independence and are not afraid to express their creative minds. I don’t know where this is going to lead me, but I feel very grateful for the journey my life has offered me so far! After all, there’s nothing we can’t handle.
