I have always been someone people naturally look to for guidance. As the eldest child and grandchild in my family, I learned early how to lead, support, and help others find their way, often by figuring things out first and then walking alongside those who came after me. Mentoring, for me, is an extension of that instinct. I genuinely enjoy handholding people through moments of uncertainty and helping them see that the answers they are looking for are often already within them.
What gives me the most joy in mentoring is watching the transformation that happens when clarity replaces confusion. I love those moments when a mentee moves from doubt to direction, not because I gave them all the answers, but because I helped shine a light on the path so they could see it for themselves. I believe mentoring is about perspective, preparation, and confidence building, especially at critical transition points in one’s career.
My mentoring style is grounded, practical, and honest. I listen deeply, both to what is said and what is left unsaid, before asking thoughtful questions and offering direct but supportive guidance. I am especially passionate about helping mentees overcome imposter syndrome, which I see as one of the biggest barriers to growth in tech and leadership. I believe in doing the work, applying insights quickly, and approaching growth with openness and accountability.
I am most energized working with early career professionals in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, particularly those who have strong academic foundations but limited real-world exposure. I also enjoy mentoring experienced professionals, especially those from academia, who are transitioning into applied, industry-facing or public sector tech roles. I am deeply interested in mentoring people who want to use technology for social good, public service, nonprofits, civil society, and impact-driven work, including public sector product management.
Outside of mentoring and work, I find grounding in reading, continuous learning, staying up to date with emerging technologies, and spending time in nature. If a mentee leaves a session with me feeling inspired to do great and challenging things, with clarity, courage, and renewed belief in themselves, then I consider the session a success.
