Managing Payments & Earnings

Everything you need to know about receiving payments, tracking earnings, and understanding the payout process.

Setting Up Your Payment Method

Initial Setup

    Navigate to Settings

    Go to your dashboard and select "Payment Settings" from the menu.

    Connect Your Account

    We use Stripe for secure payments. Click "Connect Stripe" to set up your payment account.

    Verify Your Identity

    Provide required information for tax and compliance purposes (typically takes 5-10 minutes).

    Start Accepting Sessions

    Once approved, you're ready to receive payments for completed sessions.

Important: Complete Setup Early

Set up your payment method before accepting your first session. This ensures smooth processing and avoids delays in receiving earnings.

How Payments Work

Payment Flow

1. Mentee Books & Pays

When a mentee books a session, they pay upfront. The funds are held securely.

2. Session Completed

Both parties mark the session as complete (or it's automatically marked complete 48 hours after the scheduled time).

3. Funds Released

After the session is marked complete, your earnings are released and added to your available balance.

4. Automatic Payout

Funds are transferred to your bank account on your selected payout schedule.

Platform Fee

The Mentoring Club takes a 20% platform fee to cover:

  • • Payment processing
  • • Platform maintenance
  • • Customer support
  • • Marketing & growth

What You Keep

You receive 80% of your session price. For example:

$100 session = $80 to you

$20 platform fee

Payout Schedule Options

Payouts are processed automatically after completed sessions.

Payout Timing:

You will be paid within a maximum of 30 days after the session is completed.

Tracking Your Earnings

Dashboard Overview

Your earnings dashboard shows:

Available Balance

Earnings from completed sessions ready for payout

Pending Balance

Earnings from upcoming or in-progress sessions not yet released

Total Earnings (All-Time)

Cumulative earnings since joining the platform

Transaction History

Detailed breakdown of all sessions, fees, and payouts

Exporting for Taxes

Download detailed earnings reports for tax preparation:

  • Monthly summaries (CSV or PDF)
  • Annual tax documents (1099 forms for US mentors)
  • Detailed transaction logs with timestamps and session details

Common Payment Questions

Why is my payout delayed?

Common reasons for payout delays:

  • • Bank information needs verification
  • • Session not yet marked as complete by both parties
  • • Payout fell on a bank holiday (processed next business day)
  • • Account holds due to dispute or policy review

Contact support at support@mentoring-club.com if delays exceed 5 business days.

Can I change my bank account?

Yes! Go to Payment Settings and update your bank information through Stripe. Changes may take 2-3 business days to verify before taking effect.

What happens if a mentee requests a refund?

Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If approved:

  • • Full refunds (before session): No impact on your earnings
  • • Partial refunds (after session): Deducted from your next payout
  • • Disputed sessions: We mediate and make fair determinations

You'll be notified immediately of any refund requests and have the opportunity to provide your perspective.

Are there any withdrawal limits?

No withdrawal limits. However, there is a minimum payout threshold of $20. If your available balance is below $20, it will roll over to the next payout period.
